Promoting Retired Racing Greyhound Adoption through Living History

Master Humphrey Rainesford with Killian and Izzy
Virginia Renaissance Faire, 2002

Scott and Jenifer McDonald became active with Greyhound rescue upon adopting Izzy, a petite fawn brindle female who coursed into their hearts.  Their dedication to Greyhound rescue soon merged with their love of living history reenactment, and developed into the decision to create H.M. Hounds. H.M. Hounds was officially formed in the Spring of 2002 when given the opportunity to participate in the Virginia Renaissance Faire.

Her Majesty's Hounds

Master Humphrey Rainesford (aka Scott McDonald) watches over Her Majesty’s favoured hounds, Killian and Izzy, at the 2002 Virginia Renaissance Faire.

How it All BeganAnd the Rest is History

Since then HMHounds has grown by leaps and bounds.  While we remain a relatively small organization, we are extremely active.  We are always seeking new Celtic, Renaissance, Faery, and educational events in which to participate.
